BASF announced the availability of Bemotrizinol (BEMT), marketed under the BASF trademark Tinosorb S, in the US.
BEMT was recently approved as sunscreen active ingredient by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as reported by Happi.
BASF says it is authorized to market and sell bemotrizinol (Tinosorb S) in the US, pursuant to a supplemental license agreement with DSM Nutritional Products LLC.
BASF’s Tinosorb S is a broad-spectrum UV filter that provides protection across both the UVA and UVB ranges. In addition to its UV protection, Tinosorb S is recognized for its photostability and ability to improve the photostability of other UV filters, according to BASF.
